Credit Union member onboarding guide

Do you have “member onboarding” on your marketing to do list? Did you know there is a simple formula that you can start with today even if your budget is ZERO!?

Regardless of your budget or available tools, there are 3 core elements to the member onboarding process. What’s the simple formula?

  1. Welcome Members: Make them feel good about joining your credit union. How many times have you looked up reviews or websites for products you have already purchased? You do that to reassure yourself that you made the right choice. Do the same for your credit unions members with a simple Welcome! Need specific copy and ideas?   2. Make sure they have access: Do members have everything they need to feel in control of their accounts? Once quick way to do that is to create an “getting started” page on your website.   3. Cross-sell other products: Activate the new member to use other products. But be careful not to rush this step. You've heard it before- it's the Know, Like, Trust Factor. You've welcomed them, followed up to see if they've had any issues managing their current products, now you can make them aware of your other products and services.
